It’s rather tempting to pick or pop a pimple, but it’s not worth running the risk of spreading bacteria and leaving behind a permanent scar. To reduce the redness of pimples, consider the following suggestions, which include everyday household products to tame an irritated face
Ice Cubes
Use coldness to calm irritated skin and shrink the size of pores. Rub ice cubes on red pimples several times a day, but make sure you don’t leave on for too long because it could cause frostbite and damaged skin cells.
Toothpaste
Dry out oily blemishes and reduce redness by dabbing a bit of toothpaste on a pimple. It is important not to use toothpaste with additives for whitening teeth or enamel care, but instead, concentrate on the most basic white toothpaste (no gel) to decrease the risk of burning the skin or making skin redder.
Advil
Tap into the anti-inflammatory powers of Advil (or similar) to rid your face of redness. Take two capsules or pills to jumpstart the healing process.
Crushed Aspirin
For a topical remedy, crush aspirin with a small amount of water to create a thick paste to spread on red pimples .
Visine Eye Drops
For a quick fix, Visine not only removes the redness from irritated eyes, but can also help alleviate pimple redness.
Do Not Scrub
Keeping skin clean is an important part of battling pimple redness, but do not scrub your face with a washcloth, or pimples will become irritated and cause blemishes to swell and increase in redness.
Egg Whites
Use a decent cleanser to wash your face before dabbing on egg whites with a cotton ball or Q-tip. Leave the remedy on your face for a couple of hours or for achieving the best results, overnight. After one night, redness will have faded.
Make-Up
Cover up your red pimples with make-up. Interestingly, cosmetics with a green tint have a knack for offsetting the appearance of redness.
Chilled Face Wipes
To reduce the redness and puffiness of pimples, place face wipes in the refrigerator for 15 minutes before using.
Desitin Creamy with Aloe & Vitamin E
Reach into a diaper bag and use the same ointment that touches your baby’s bottom. Cover your face with an even, light layer of Desitin before going to bed. Leave on your face overnight and by morning – the redness should have disappeared.
Lemon Juice
Soak a cotton ball in lemon juice and press against a pimple for five minutes to lessen swelling and redness.
Herbal Tea Bag
Place an herbal tea bag in warm water before rubbing across your face. Don’t be alarmed when your face turns brown. Leave the tea on your face for three minutes, and then rinse off with cold water. Pat dry with a clean towel. Red pimples should subside within hours.
Apple Cider Vinegar
Not only will apple cider vinegar remove the redness of pimples, but also decreases the size of your blemish.
