7 Ways Yoga Make Positive Change

I used to think that yoga wasn’t for me, that it wasn’t “my thing”. It was too meditative, too slow-paced – I’m a high-intensity cardio person who likes to MOVE! Sure, it was a fun diversion once in a while, but I didn’t focus on it, I didn’t work at it, and I didn’t take a regular class. I started incorporating Pilates into my weekly routine when they began offering classes at work and I was trying to bounce back from having babies. The core strength work was essential for my recovery, and I began to feel more connected with my body in a way that running didn’t offer me.

But yoga. Yoga was still out there, this mysterious, ethereal “practice” that I never quite got into. As time went on, I learned that I needed something more – something to balance out the intensity of triathlon training and running, and to push my body and mind in a different way.

I’ve noticed a huge positive change as I’ve been incorporating yoga into my healthy lifestyle. And I’m learning that yoga is most definitely not “too meditative”, or slow-paced. It’s intense in a different way than I expected.
