I love HIIT workouts! There’s no better way to maximize your time and really amplify your results. HIIT stands for “High Intensity Interval Training”. Regular interval training will typically follow a 2:1 ratio – regular intensity:high intensity. For example you do an exercise at regular intensity for 2 minutes followed by a 1-minute near-maximum effort bout.
The reason why HIIT is so effective and becoming increasingly popular is it’s taken this formula and flipped it around; in HIIT workouts your near-maximum intensity bout is twice as long as your “normal” bout. It becomes 2:1 high intensity:regular intensity.
